Big on Christmas Snowman Soup

My project today looks a little familiar......last year I made a Snowman Soup that looked much like this. 
The only difference is I changed the colors and used a different stamp set.



I used the Big on Christmas Stamp set and colored the letters with our Stampin' Write Markers.
 The markers include:  Bashful Blue, Celery, Basic Gray, Real Red & Pumpkin Pie.
 The white card stock measures 3 7/8 x 1 7/8 and the Bashful Blue cardstock
 measures 4 1/2 x 4 1/4 & you score it at 2 1/4.

Stacking Matchbox

Here's a cute & simple way to package little treats with the Matchbox Big Shot Die. 
You can stack them, tie some ribbon around it and then the person you give it to has three little boxes to open.

  I love stuff like this!!  You can fit little pieces of candy, jewelry & even a little note.
For the older nieces & nephews I put cash inside the box.  Last year I put their cash inside the Pillow Box. 

On the picture above I used the Sweet Season Stamp set with Old Olive Ribbon.

The next picture I used the Sparkly & Bright stamp set & colored the star with a YoYo Yellow Marker. I punched the tree with the 1 3/8 Circle Punch, added it to the Real Red Scallop Circle & pierced the scallops with the Paper Piercer & my Chic Stand.

Now I need to explain how I made the Matchbox yesterday.   Instead of adding the sliding lid, I cut off half of it and attached it to the back side.  I'm terrible at wording this.....do you want me to film a video? I could do a short & sweet one real fast on Monday.

Matchbox Die

My Project today is another Reindeer Food (I hope you're not tired of them).
 This time of year we're always looking for little gifts we can make real fast.

This time I used the Big Shot Matchbox Die and it's on sale right now with the 12 Days of Holiday Sales. 



I'm showing the inside of the box first :)
Here's the same box and instead of oatmeal I added four Hershey Nuggets (I usually cover them with Designer Paper but I ran out of time).



Here's the cover of the box and the scallop circle is from the Pennant Die (one of my favorites just because it has a large scallop...I'm still crossing my fingers for a larger scallop circle punch in the next catalog!!).  The Pennant Big Shot die is also one of the items on the 12 Days of Holiday Sales.



The Reindeer from the Sparkly & Bright stamp set was stamped with Soft Suede ink and I colored his nose with the Real Red Marker.  I used the 1 3/8 Circle Punch with the 1 3/4 Circle Punch.  The snowflakes are from the Serene Snowflake Stamp set from the Holiday Mini Catalog.

I'll be honest I had a few extra Reindeer on my desk and it made using it really easy....December is the month we find ourselves doing everything in fast forward mode.

New Blog Design

Good afternoon!
I think we've pretty much wrapped up the new design for my blog but I need your help :)
Can you look around....
and let us know if any of the links are not working or if something is out of whack?

What do you think?   I've wanted a change for a long time and I think it's been worth the wait!!
I had the idea of getting my own logo and then using it with everything for a long time! 
But finding a logo ...well....that can take some time.

White is my favorite color....Celery & Pink Pirouette follows close behind and black is classic. So I told Veronica what my favorite colors were and that I wanted a chick or a bird and this is the result.

Which blog is your favorite?  (I know I have too many to count but it keeps me organized.)
I'll share my favorite this weekend.....I wonder....do you know which one I'll say?

I've had one person ask "why I changed"....."they loved the banner that was my house".  I loved it too....but it was time for a change and I needed a logo I could add to all my documents....more or less it was a branding thing (and I was ready for a change).

I've got lots of things to share with you but I need to get my project posted for the day.  Maybe this weekend I'll post all the little things I need to share......and as long as I'm not having blog trouble I'll throw in some blog candy.

Treat Boxes

My project today is one of the projects we're making at Stamp Club. I've had several requests for masculine ideas and I thought these Treat Boxes in our Stampin' Up! catalog would be perfect to monogram for a man or a woman.

I stamped the J with Close to Cocoa Craft Ink and embossed it with Clear Embossing Powder.  I punched it out with the 1 1/4 Circle punch and layered it with the 1 3/8 Circle & the Scallop Circle. I pierced the scallops with the Paper Piercer & a Chic Stand.

These boxes are super sturdy and I'm thinking it would be perfect for the cookies or fudge I usually make during the holidays (no baking this year.... Dave is having surgery next week....will share more details this weekend).

Reindeer Food....again :)

Here's two more versions of the Reindeer Food.  They all share the same colors, using Kraft Card stock, Starkly & Bright Stamp set & sponging with Close to Cocoa ink.

The Reindeer Food poem is printed and attached to the back.  Click here if you'd like to print the Reindeer Food Poem.

The Kraft card stock measures 5 1/2 x 3 1/2 and you score it at 1 3/4, 2 1/2 &4 1/2.  The red cardstock is 3 1/2 x 1 1/4 and use the Scallop edge punch.

The next picture is the same thing....I just made it larger and used the greeting from the Sparkly & Bright stamp set instead of the Merry Christmas from the Teeny Tiny Wishes.

This one measures 8 1/8 x 3 1/8 and you score it at 1, 4 & 5.  The red cardstock is 3 1/8 x 1 1/4.
 

Don't forget to add Crystal Effects to his nose to make it shine :)

Reindeer Food

I've made three versions of Reindeer Food this year and today I'm showing you the one that looks similar to the one I make each year.



I stamped the Reindeer from the Sparkly & Bright stamp set with Chocolate Chip ink.  The topper measures 5 1/2 x 4 1/4 and you score it at 2 3/4.
I printed the poem on my Kraft card stock using Printmaster software (on my old computer that has died).  If you'd like the poem, I have it posted on my other website.  Click here to go there now. Once you print the poem, trim it to fit whatever size topper you choose to use.

The Real Red Card stock measures 4 1/4 x 1/2" and I used the 1 3/8 Circle punch on the Reindeer.

The Reindeer Food is a mixture of Oatmeal and red Cookie Sprinkles.  I put the mixture in a Small Cellophane bag that we have on page 159 of our Idea Book & Catalog. You get 50 bags for $3.95 :)

Matchbox Bigz XL Die

Good morning!  I've had a few people ask me if I really like the Matchbox die and my answer is YES!  I haven't used it in a while but now that it's on sale with the 12 days of Holiday Sales I'm going to get it out & use it.   I'd love to work on that today but my calendar is full with needing to wrap up my sewing/quilting projects for Christmas presents & checking email (I was gone most of yesterday).

These three pictures are projects I've made in the past with the Matchbox Die.  I'll try to round up a few more to show you before the sale ends on the 22nd.  I remember making a Monogram one with Lovely Letters Alphabet & another using the Tea Party Designer Paper with the Quilt Quips Stamp Set.

Snowman Soup

I make Snowman Soup every year for the holidays and this is my version this year.  I get such a kick out of making these!!

I used the snowman from the Christmas Punch stamp set but if that's a set you don't have you could use Two Cool Dudes or Punch Pals.  I realize it's a Level two hostess set & some of you may not have it.

I used Bashful Blue Craft ink with Clear Embossing Powder and embossed the Snowman tag, then I punched it out with the Tag Punch.  I tied the 1" Bashful Blue Double Stitched Ribbon around the tin and added the tag with Silver Elastic Cord.
 
The Snowman Soup poem is added to the back and here's the poem:

Was told you've been real good this year, always glad to hear it!
With freezing weather drawing near, you'll need to warm the spirit.
So, here's a little Snowman Soup, complete with stirring stick.
Just add hot water & sip it slow.  It's sure to do the trick!

The ingredients are:

• Hershey Kisses
• Marshmallows (aka freeze dried snowballs)
• Candy Cane

Serene Snowflakes Stamp Set

Isn't this card beautiful?  I absolutely love it and would have never thought to use black. The Night & Day Specialty Paper is perfect for this card!  The Serene Snowflake stamp set is another one of those sets that I'll keep forever.  The snowflakes are so elegant & beautiful and I've certainly gotten my money's worth.

Did you notice how the Scallop Circle has the Frosted White Shimmer Paint on the edges?

Sweet Season Stamp Set

My card today was made with the Sweet Season Stamp set.  I used the Merry Moments designer paper & this pattern is my favorite in that assortment.
The "Merry Christmas" is in the Teeny Tiny Wishes on page 145. I love how most of the greetings fit in the Word Window Punch and then you can layer it with the Modern Label Punch.

This card measures 41/4 x 4 1/4 and it will always be my favorite size!!

Savanna's Purse

Good morning!
This is a purse I made over the Thanksgiving holiday (thanks Donna for helping me!!!)  It's going to be Savanna's purse (one of my nieces) for Christmas. 



 I wish I could say I used the Big Shot to make it but I didn't.  We used a Jelly Roll and a new item that I hadn't used before.   Fusible Fleece (and wow .....  have you seen how many choices you have?).  And I learned how to make a ruffle for the top of a purse (which is what this purse is missing...like pockets ...I felt like it's over my head).

p.s. would you like a good laugh?  yesterday I created two new blogs (I know another one...I just have this need to keep everything organized).  One is for my local girls so I can update them on local events.....for example coming over and quilting with me. And the other one was for technical stuff....my thoughts were I'm always trying new things, some work, some don't and I thought it would be a great place for me to rattle on about the technical side of my business.    So, the irony of it is....I create a Technical blog to share my knowledge and then I wake up today with my blog out of sorts and I don't have a clue how to fix it.  Maybe I should add a footer to the blog that I'm not an expert..... I'm just sharing my experiences :)

 If you're on my blog...you see that my right column is missing.  I'm not sure what happened.  I added a new blog yesterday (for my local customers) and after that my right column was gone.   I've ask Typepad for help and hopefully will here from them soon!!

Sparkly & Bright Holiday Tags

Here's two tags that I made with the Sparkly & Bright stamp set.  I used the Two Tags Die with the Big Shot and I love how easy they are to make!

I stamped the snowflakes with White Craft Ink and sponged the edges with Close to Cocoa ink.  The red bird is from the Merry Details Embosslit.

The next tag uses the Reindeer from the same stamp set, Sparkly & Bright and the "to: & from:" are from the Punch Pals stamp set.

 p.s.
